On Tarot and Its Historical Use
Tarot began as a card game in fifteenth-century Italy. Its adaptation to occult and divinatory use emerged in France in the later eighteenth century.
Court de Gébelin gave tarot an atmosphere of ancient symbolic dignity, while Etteilla developed one of the earliest systematic methods for practical card consultation.
This application is inspired by that historical moment in style and interpretive voice. It does not claim historical certainty for occult theories, nor does it claim factual prediction.
